![]() ![]() So I stupidly called and the woman from Victoria's Secret card Comenity was immediately rude with me as soon as I gave her the last four of my social and she said I have a file hear that your account is in collections and we bought it back from the collection agency and tried to get me to pay. Well this happened before and when I called it in with some other card I don't remember now, it was just verifying some thing and then I was approved. went to submit and it kept bringing Me back to the top of the page. So I filled out the last four of my social etc. I had just gotten approved for two other Commenity card a few days ago with the shopping cart trick, (Express and Williams Sonoma), so I figured my foot was back in the door and why not go for this one too. So I was told online Tonight that I was approved for a card for $500 with Victoria's Secret and I thought well that's strange because it had gone to collections like five years ago and then I thought well maybe because it was charged off they're willing to give me another chance who knows. However, the fine print document I received states "Your use of this account, or failure to close the account within 30 days of receiving this document, indicates your acceptance of the terms of this agreement, including the assessment of any interest charges and fees." So I don't think I should ignore this.Ok, so I messed up and I know I did so please be kind but I'm really looking for some advice because the shopping cart truck has been working for me lately at least here in there and I'm trying to just increase my available credit in general, I have two collections accounts, one was for a Victoria's Secret card I had about six years ago that was sold to a collections agency about five years ago. Not under hard inquiries, and not under open accounts. ![]() I checked my Credit Karma, and there no record of this bank and card in my account. ![]() I got a representative, but he said that they can't view the Victoria's Secret accounts and the only thing I can do is call that line that wants my social security number. I tried called the Comenity Bank customer service line too. Since they shouldn't have my SS number, since I never applied for this card, I didn't feel comfortable putting it in the phone system. I tried to call the Victoria's Secret credit card phone line, but the automated system would not let me speak to a representative without giving my social security number. The sticker on the card doesn't say "Call to activate", it says "Call before use to CONFIRM RECEIPT of your credit card" (Yes, in all caps). I've never even heard of this bank until I got this. I've also never had an amount with Comenity, the bank that this card is through. I never even had a non-credit rewards card with them. I haven't shopped at Victoria's Secret in months, and I have never had any account with them ever. I thought that it was one of those promotions to get you to sign up or something, but I looked closer and the card has my name, an account number, and all the works. Yesterday, I received a Victoria's Secret Angel credit card in the mail. Here, please treat others with respect, stay on-topic, and avoid self-promotion.Īlways do your own research before acting on any information or advice that you read on Reddit.
